In the Add-ons Manager I have two Shockwave Flash plugins, one is the latest version, and the other is an outdated version. If I try to update the plugin it just brings me to a page telling me it has been blocked. What should I do and should I be worried about the other plugin opening my computer up to vulnerabilities?

Your System Details List shows multiple Flash plugins.

  1. Shockwave Flash 11.8 r800
  2. Shockwave Flash 18.0 r0

You can find the installation path of all plugins on the about:plugins page.

You can check the Flash player installation folder for multiple Flash player plugins and remove older version(s) of the plugin (NPSWF32) and possibly (re)install the latest Flash player.

  • (32 bit Windows) C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\
  • (64 bit Windows) C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\

If there is only one Flash version present then try to delete the pluginreg.dat file in the Firefox Profile Folder and maybe addons.sqlite as well to reset the plugin registry databases.

It's also telling me they're up to date.

Thank you for your excellent answer, Cor-el. In the first picture I also have a concern with the Java Deployment Toolkit plugin, should I just keep it disabled? Another question mentioned Oracle has not fixed security faults in the plugin.

Yes, you can keep the Java DT plugin disabled. Normally only Java developers need this plugin anyway.
