I have upgraded to the latest version of flash 21.0.r0 and I keep having crashes. When I check the status of the plugins, it shows both versions. I have gone into control panel and deleted the old version and reinstalled the new...still comes up the same! Re-downloaded Firefox and did an install...no change. If I disable the old version, it disables both new and old...HELP! Thanks!

Also did a refresh...which did nothing but wipe out all my downloads and settings...

Having more than one version of a program may cause issues. You must remove the older programs. Then get the current full installer.

Flash: Grab the uninstaller from here: Uninstall Flash Player | Windows Uninstall Flash Player | Mac

Then reinstall the latest version.

Flash Player Version: 21.0.0.182 Note: Windows users should download the active_x for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the active_x.

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ Direct link scans current system and browser Note: Optional offer: McAfee Security

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, Win IE . . . .) Note: Optional offer: McAfee Security

You need to uninstall plugins from Windows from the control panel or using a utility from Adobe.

Sorry the Refresh is not intended to help with this sort of issue.

Well, went out to the Adobe site, downloaded the uninstaller...ran it (successful) then went to the windows/systems32/macromed directory and deleted the sub-directories (flash). Checked in Firefox to verify there was no flash...reinstalled flash (successful) restarted Firefox...and quess what? Two versions again! and still crashes. Crazy! I have windows 7

Something is going wrong or behaving unexpectedly. I do not think Flash Player is going to suddenly appear from nowhere. lets try to look more closely at what happens. After you run the uninstaller did you check Firefox and its status including looking at the about:plugins page of Firefox or the troubleshooting page about:support ?

At that point you should have no FlashPlayer installed as far as Firefox is concerned. Could I suggest you repeat the uninstall instructions and then post your troubleshooting information page. If that is too large to fit in a reply please edit out theprint detail.

Troubleshooting Information Page

To find the correct solution to your problem, we need some more non-personal information from you. After uninstalling FlashPlayer but before attempting to reinstall please do the following:

  1. Use ONE of these methods to open the Firefox Troubleshooting Information page:
    • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click on help Help-29 and select Troubleshooting Information.
    • Type about:support into the Firefox address bar and press the enter key.
  2. At the top of the Troubleshooting Information page that comes up, you should see a button that says "Copy text to clipboard". Click it.
  3. Now, go back to your forum post, right-click in the reply box and select Paste from the context menu (or else click inside the reply box and press the Ctrl+V keys) to paste all the information you copied into the forum post.

If you need further information about the Troubleshooting information page, please read the article Use the Troubleshooting Information page to help fix Firefox issues.

You probably need to use an additional reply but please also paste into a reply the about:plugins details, those are linked from the troubleshooting page.

Thanks in advance for your help!
