Firefox 46.01 in el capitan is running very slowly and often freezing after refreshing and after all add-ons were disabled.
Slowness — Most of the time it takes several seconds or more for characters I've entered to appear on the screen. Freezing — Occurs randomly; I've been unable to see a pattern of keystrokes or actions that provoke the freeze. I am barely able to use Firefox anymore because of this issue that has been effecting the browser for nearly four weeks.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).
