How to remove "search with google" in Firefox 55
When I type in the address bar the first auto-complete option is always "search with Google". I do not need this option, if I wanted to search I'd be using the search box instead of the address bar, how do I get rid of this?

No it isn't, it's an actual entry I have to skip past with the down arrow. Search from the address bar is disabled.

I already set browser.urlbar.autocomplete.enabled to false, that's when this search with option started appearing, it appears in place of the auto-complete option which I also didn't want.

I found an option in Classic Theme Restorer which removes it.

That bar is just informational. It tells you what Firefox would do if you were to press Enter right now.
Please see this recent thread for options to suppress that line: disable "search with" drop down.
Does that work for you?
Sorry, you didn't say that you wanted to get rid of the entire drop-down like the other user...
Do you ONLY want to get rid of that first line -- is that the goal? There's no built-in setting which targets just the top line, but you can use a custom style rule to hide it. Let me know if that is what you're looking for.
