File Save In Specific Folder Not Working
Am now on 59.0.3(64 bit), since the last version can't save a file in a folder that is chosen but even though file is saved, it ends up in the Downloads folder. Changed to "Save files to" it works saving all the files in that particular folder but then all the files are in the same folder instead of different folder that I want to.
Any idea what went wrong?
Thanks!
Regards, av

Removed Ninja Downloader add-on, for 2 days no problem. So guess that's the cause?
Given the known reported issues (see the links), it seems obvious it is. (In general: for troublesome add-ons, you may not need to wait for a few days if you can detect this within a few minutes by temporarily disabling it before uninstalling. ;) )

my only guess is that Firefox doesn't have the permission to save files into that location. Did you try running Firefox with administrator privileges?

Am already logged on as administrator on my laptop and PC which I replicated, both have exactly the same problem, that is saving files, any files to any folder chosen by me will end up in default downloads folder, but if chosen a specific folder then all the downloads will end up there. Wondering why chosen folder don't work anymore as I've checked and doubled checked online for answers which don't help. Even did some changes in about:config to try out but still not working.
So still waiting for a resolution on this.
Thanks!

What changes did you make to about:config? Did you undo these changes (right-click: Reset) when they weren't working?
Do you have any download related extensions or use an external download manager?
It is possible that security software (anti-virus, firewall) is causing the problem. Try to disable security software temporarily to see if that makes a difference.

Hi! Lots of posting in about:config to set the downloads to choose location each time, did that didn't work. Extensions just on tabs and reload tabs automatically though what you said reminded me about recent add-ons so just went and removed "Ninja Downloader" extension. Let's see if this helps and will come back to report.
Thanks and regards, av
This question also reports Ninja Download Manager as the culprit, and the same issue is mentioned in one of its reviews.

You may trying to store files into administrator privileged location. I had the same problem before.
You can set as manual file saving by doing this following: Under Tools -> Options, in the General Tab, there is a section for Downloads. Simply set it to 'Always ask me where to save files'.
Or for better answer you can follow these answer: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/973361

Hi! Tried that didn't work. Files are saved in muliple "normal" folders but whatever saved went into default Downloads folder. Like I said just a bit earlier, Ninja Downloader is the one causing the problem as I've removed that and everything went back to normal.
Thanks!
