I am doing this project with a friend using a gmx.net email account. Every time they reply to one of my emails/replies, Thunderbird is not considering it as part of the same thread.

I've tried using the folder repair option. Also, it's the first time I have this kind of problem

Thank you!

versions: macOs 10.15.4 Thunderbird 68.7.0 (64-bit)

Which email program is your friend using? Some of them may mangle the reference headers and break threading. To test, ask your friend to reply through their webmail access and see if the threading is still broken. I doubt this is caused by the mail provider, GMX.

Sorry for the late reply. You're right, when we did the test from the webmail, all went right.

The strange thing is that when they answer from their mail client using another email service the conversation chain is not broken. Anyway, they stopped using gmx. So all is working.

Thx!
