Impoorting Apple Mail messages to Thunderbird on Mac

Because of the combination mail and calendar in Thunderbird I switched from Apple Mail to Thunderbird. Details: Mac OS 12.6 Monterey - Apple Mail 16.0 and Thunderbird 102.4.0 I have two email addresses in all mboxes. What I did: 1. Tried to use the Import option in Thunderbird for Apple Mail, seems to work, but nothing imported. 2. Exported Apple Mail Archive via Mailboxes Export option in Mail and then tried to import as a file, did not work.

Hopefully somebody can tell me what I should do to succeed. Thanks in advance! benb
