There are several possibilities.
- it may be that your configuration setup is wrong, causing the error
- or it may be that the account requires an 'app' password, such as Gmail requires.
- it might be timing issue. (I always suggest NOT entering password during setup until the account prompts for it)
- or it sometimes happens when users enter only part of their email id, omitting the @ and all to the right of it.
