Page opens then misdirects, disable Java Console 6.0.20 to keep it from misdirecting
When going to certain pages I was misdirected to another page. I disabled add-ons until it didn't happen. Java Console 6.0.20 seems to be the problem. I have searched for viruses, and malware with ESET NOD 32, Spybot, Malwarebytes, Windows Defender. Also online scanners. Full scans, smart scans, safe mode scans, etc. The following URL is just the most recent, this is not a consistent problem but it has happened for some time.

John again Now I'm sure I have a computer bug. Even though all my scans are clean I still have problems and am seeking help @ a malware forum.
Whenever I try to go to www.google.com, I am directed to another website thatt I frequent (www.MastersNY.org). Cn you help? I am using an iMac with the most recent version of Firefox. Ron
You may be having a problem with some extension or plugin that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
I dumped all my Firefox files and downloaded the program again. All is well for right now, but I will keep your suggestion in mind should it occur again.
John again I went to a malware removal site and found I did have an infection. We worked to clean it up, there were some things I did not install such as Bittorrent. Never installed it and was not in my add remove list.
Thought I was clean.
Unfortunately I had recently had another CNN misdirect to Facebook. I have never used Facebook, my daughter has and uses my computer when she comes over to do her laundry.
Ron we may have the same problem, not sure it is Firefox. After awhile you may have the same problem again. If so it may be a tough one to remove. I plan to BU documents, then do a clean install.
I am having a similar problem as above. I use Firefox 3.6.6 and at times when I click on www.twitter.com it redirects me to an eBlogger's site? What's up with this redirect? I've used Malware,Stopzilla, and Norton also in Safe Mode and do not find any viruses..not that it means anything ..but would like to find an answer.
John again
I forgot about this thread. If you are using a Cisco Linksys WIFI Router, Model WRT160N v3 then the problem might be the router. This problem has been discussed since September 2009 at this site: http://homecommunity.cisco.com/t5/Wireless-Routers/WRT160N-V3-has-serioius-DNS-issues/td-p/280327;jsessionid=26FD4B8F8F4EEB617452B6AB0418E0ED?view=by_date_ascending
Cisco has finally become aware of the problem and is working on a fix.
