I have cookies enabled, 3rd part enebled, history til expired. websites still say I need to enable cookies.
Pretty simple really. I have uninstalled and reinstalled firefox. I have been using firefox for 5 years, I'm not dumb. My history was and is set to custom. Cookies were and are enabled. 3rd party were and are enabled. no websites are excluded. Cookies are retained until they expire. Still the websites will not load, but send me to a help page to enable cookies.

Does Firefox create cookies: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history
It is also possible that your security software (firewall) is blocking cookies.
As stated, History is set to custom. No firewalls are turned on. Windows and CA turned off for testing. This is a new problem, I have been able to access these sites (not adult) before. One is netflix.
I'm sorry, but I can't find the area to post a question. It is in regards to blocking 3rd party cookies. I need to understand the pros and cons from blocking them. I apologize for possibly posting in the wrong area but I'd be so appreciative if someone might help or direct me to an area which deals with more precise ramifications. Thank you, Leeflea
There is usually no need to enable third-party cookies. Only some websites needs them enabled. E.g. you can't logout properly from Hotmail unless third-party cookies are enabled, but apart from that Hotmail (Windows Live) works without problems. You usually notice it when you have to enable third-party cookies because the website gives a warning. You end up with a lot of extra cookies if third-party cookies are enabled, so I keep them disabled and remove the live.com cookies myself in this case.
