What operating system are you running? Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, MAC OSX, Linux, Ubuntu or some other OS?

Vista, and I have the same problem on my office cpmputer running XP. Both are running AVG

For some reason or other, Firefox is trying to find the site on your hard drive in your Firefox Profile.

Do you have AVG's Linkscanner enabled? It caused a problem with the previous version of Firefox until AVG updated it and I'm wondering if the same thing is happening again.

Could you try disabling it to see if it makes any difference?

If you're not using the Linkscanner, or if disabling it doesn't resolve the problem, try creating a new Profile. See How to create a new profile
