I subscribed to a site where they required me to set up their website as my home page. It was a complex process, detailed on the website, which took several steps and, of course, I didn't take a note of these steps. The website became my home page for a while, until it disappeared from the net. Now I can't get rid of it off my home page. It alerts me every time I boot up my browser that another website has been trying to change my home page and offers me the choice of accepting the change. That changed home page is MY choice, but the other website keeps coming back. Can you help?

Hi krjc,

You should take a look at the Knowledge Base article How to set the home page. Your homepage might have been changed by a particular site. Sites like MSN, Yahoo, etc have been know to ask to become your homepage.

There are steps in that article to reset your homepage preferences to default. I would try that first to clear out any strangeness. If that works, you can try setting your homepage again to your personal preference.

If that doesn't work you should look at the article How to fix preferences that won't save.

Finally, your issue may be because you've been hit with some Malware.

Hopefully this helps!
