I've been having script errors for some time, and to such an extent that it makes my browser nearly useless. I've used QuickJava only to some success. Anyway, I tried to create a new profile and transfer my bookmarks, and current browser layout, and add-ons to the new profile using information from the forums, here. It seems that all my add-ons were automatically transfered, anyway, but even after manually transfering copied files of bookmark back-ups, none of my bookmarks or browser layout were transfered.

Can someone help me with this?

Try restore your bookmarks from the json file in your old profile:

To restore your layout go to your old profile copy the file localstore.rdf and paste in the new profile folder.

extensions wouldn't get transferred automatically, so you may still be using the old profile if you have your extensions and the problem with the bookmarks.

Did you use the Profile Manager to create a new profile or did you reset Firefox?

When you reset Firefox then a new profile is created and some personal data (bookmarks, history, cookies, passwords, form data) is automatically imported and the current profile folder will be moved to the desktop to an "Old Firefox Data" folder. Installed extensions and other customizations (toolbars, prefs) that you have made are lost and need to be redone.

It is possible to recover more data from the old profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

Okay, my second attempt was able to get the my bookmarks to the new profile, but it still isn't getting all of my extensions (QuickJava and more important my Status Bar 4ever extension), nor my page layout on the old profiel which included having the location bar above the tabs.

Current Firefox versions only show the "Tabs on Top" menu entry in the "View > Toolbars" and "Firefox > Options" menu and in toolbar context menus if the tabs aren't in the default position on top.

If the tabs are on top and the menu entry isn't available and you want to move the tabs below the navigation toolbar then you need to toggle the browser.tabs.onTop pref to false on the about:config page.

A Firefox restart is necessary to update the menu entry to either show or remove it.

Note that this pref will no longer have effect when the Australis code lands on the release channel (the Australis code will probably land in Firefox 29).

I have the latest version of Firefox, and every time it's updated, I've been able to keep my tabs on the bottom, bookmark toolbar in the middle, and location bar at the top. I want this same set-up in my new profile, and I want to know how to transfer this layout to the new profile.

BTW, this does not help with the part where I explained that QuickJava and StatusBar4Ever in my add-on Extensions aren't being transfered.

Which files in my old profile will get these particular add-on Extensions and the layout to transfer to my new profile?

It is best to (re)install those two extensions fresh in the new profile.

You can toggle the browser.tabs.onTop pref to false on the about:config page.
A Firefox restart is necessary to update the menu entry to either show or remove it.

You can open the about:config page via the location bar and you can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
