Yahoo hijacked my Mozilla. How to export my favorites before I uninstall it?
I thought malware attacked me, but I see it is Yahoo that caused the problem I guess. I just clicked on what I thought was a usual Mozilla update when turning on the computer a few days ago, and paid no attention, but I did wrong I guess.
I want to export my Mozilla favorites on what appears to be "Mozilla Firefox Yahoo! Edition yahoo - 1.17 "and try uninstalling Mozilla and starting over. Then import my favs. How do I export my favorites to a file so I can import them again all fresh. I see no options anywhere to do this and help doesn't show how to do this with Yahoo Hijacking me.
Thanks

I use FEBE to backup my Firefox settings and bookmarks
Find in the addons
Your personal data is unaffected when uninstalling, as long as you don't check the "Remove my Firefox personal data and customizations" option. You can create a bookmarks backup in JSON format. It's specific to Firefox and when imported, it replaces your current set of bookmarks. Or you can export bookmarks in HTML format. It's common to all browsers, and when imported, it adds bookmarks to your current set.
- Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer
- Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks
That being said, it should be enough to remove MySearchDial and Yahoo! Toolbar from the Add-ons Manger, Extensions category.
I also strongly recommend fully scanning your system with the anti-malware applications listed in the following article.
Firefox > Alt+H+T > Show Folder > Close FF > Wait for 3 seconds > just backup file Places.sqlite
How to restore : just replace places.sqlite
