What Firefox versions are supported using windows 7 64-bit operating system ?
PLEASE NOTE THAT MY COMPUTER USES: WINDOWS 7, HOME PREMIUM / 64 BIT !
I have been reading & entering different version information on some fire fox versions & all keep on saying the following (in the Windows category):
"Please note that while the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows Vista and Windows 7 can be used to run Firefox 11, only 32-bit builds of Firefox 11 are supported at this time."
Like I said, my operating system I am using is windows 7, home premium / 64 bit, so if anyone knows of a most up to date, free & full version download of fire fox, please let me know.

Please note; there is no 64-bit Windows release version of Firefox, the 32-bit version works fine.

You can use the 32-bit version of Firefox on 64-bit systems, there's no 64-bit version of Firefox for Windows.
I run Firefox 30 on Windows 7 64-bit.
If you poke around on your C drive, you will discover two program folders:
C:\Program Files\ => these are the 64-bit programs
C:\Program Files (x86)\ => these are the 32-bit programs
Windows 7 handles both equally well.
The main difference you will find is that 32-bit programs are not able to use more than about 3GB of memory. That's a problem for some people who want to use 100+ tabs simultaneously, or with some media and add-ons that cause Firefox to use memory inefficiently, but for the most part, Mozilla has not found a strong case for supporting both a 32-bit and a 64-bit version of Firefox for Windows.
so how do I aquire a firefox verson that they support using a 64 bit ver. ?
Chris,
As the-edmeister said, currently there is NO Firefox version that is 64-bit. The only 64-bit version is the Nightly channel of Firefox which is the pre-alpha build. Nightly can be very buggy and should only be used for testing and advanced users who can troubleshoot their crashes if it does so. I don't recommend it at all for an average home user such as yourself.
If you are willing to take the risk of Nightly being extremely buggy and unstable, feel free. Just note that you might not get support here as we normally don't push users to try out pre-release versions of Firefox except for troubleshooting cases.
Hi Chris, i don't understand this question:
so how do I aquire a firefox verson that they support using a 64 bit ver. ?
Do you mean, what version of Firefox does Mozilla support on 64-bit Windows? The one release of Firefox for Windows is supported on Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit.
