I have followed the instructions to add an image to a signature. I added the image and customized the text and saved the HTML file. I then selected to use the file as a signature. The customized color in the signature does not show up in the HTML file. What can I do to fix this?

Example: This is how I created a signature and attached an image with a link as part of my signature file.

Open a new Write message. Remove all current signature, so it is completely blank and cursor is at the begining.

It does not matter what auto selections are currently showing in the 'Formatting Bar', default selections only effect how you see the email being contructed, it does not hard code the email with specific html. You need the signature file to be hard coded with html. This means you need to reselect everything you need when creating a HTML signature file.

Select all the formatting required from the 'Formatting Bar', even if it appears you are only selecting the same. I selected 'Times', colour blue, italic and bold. Typed 'Regards' and pressed return. on new line typed my name and press return

now to insert the image: 'Insert' > 'Image' click on 'Choose file' locate image stored on my computer and click on 'Open' select 'Attach this image to the message'

the image is too big, so want to keep scale but make smaller. click on 'Dimensions' tab Select: Custom size' and 'Constrain' width eg: 200 pixels length is auto set.

I wanted to be able to click on the image and it opens in a browser on my website. click on 'Link' tab Under 'Enter a web location......etc' type the website page eg: http://www.anje.co.uk click on OK

Image is inserted.

Now to save the file as html document in a folder on my desktop or in my documents - not in thunderbird. click on drop down of 'Save' and choose 'File' or 'File' > 'Save as' > 'File' choose where to save on computer. make sure it is saved with a suitable filename with .html extension.

Then attach the file: 'Tools' > 'Account Settings' for the mail account or right click on mail account name in folder Pane and select 'Settings'

select 'attach the signature from a file instead (text, HTML or image)' click on 'choose' button locate and select the *.html file you just saved and click on 'Open' click on OK.

Click on 'Write' the Write window should now open showing all the html formatting and the image.

This is great!

Now, all of the formatting colors/bold etc. are working except for the colors I apply to the links such as www.website.com No matter what color I make it, I save the signature and when I send an email it turns blue instead of the color I have selected. Any ideas on how to fix that?

The colour of 'links' is determined by the overall settings for links.

'Tools' > 'Options' > 'Display' > 'Formatting' tab under 'fonts & Colours' section - to the right click on 'Colours' the 'Link colours' are defined here.

The colour is defined by your overall settings.
