thunderbird opens then crashes

I click on the Thuderbird icon, it opens, then crashes

If I open in safe mode, it does not crash, but I cannot select multiple e-mails to delete for example, otherwise it crashes

I don't get a crash report or anything - one moment Thunderbird is open, the next it is closed - no reports, no warning, no nothing, open then closed

If I open in safe mode, it does not crash,

Disable all your extensions. Then enable them one at a time until Thunderbird crashes upon start up.
