-When I delete mail on my pc, and wait for a few minutes the mail is re-imported and shown as new mail.

-When I start Thunderbird sometimes I receive a lot of mail. That was deleted. weeks, and weeks ago.

-Sometimes I receive the same mail 3 times. Once on the day it was sent (ie today), second time after a week and another time after 2/3 weeks. Thus I have 500 (?) mails in my inbox which are actually 300 messages. Twice.

It looks as if the software isn't communicating with the server (hotmail) or forgets to mention I deleted or read files already?

My understanding is the issue is at Hotmail. There is a setting there to move mail to the pop folder when it is downloaded. for some reason they are not doing this in a timely manner. so the mail gets downloaded again. Basically Hotmail POP is now rubbish. They want us using IMAP.

I have been using this hotmail address since (I don't know) 1998 or so, and it is my primary email, I can not change to another provider...
