Every time I receive an email from a person not in my contact list, Thunderbird automatically puts it into my address book and I can't find a way to stop this. Can someone please tell me how to do this, with thanks.

Thunderbird doesn't do that. How did you determine that this is actually what's happening?

You can tell Thunderbird to automatically add (or not) outgoing email addresses to your Collected Addresses address book. The setting is in Thunderbird Options.

Hello christ1, actually I noticed that too in my Address Book although I'm just now trying to set it up as just recently installed TB. I noticed email addresses from individuals not on my list and online companies from whom I purchased somethings...the latter not necessary to keep.

Since I never had an Address Book before I was searching for my problem and found this thread. Should I describe my problem here or should I start a new thread?

Thanks very much.
