Several Skysports pages do not display properly and use 50% cpu & 3GB memory then can only be closed by killing from Task Manager. The same pages display OK with IE. Example attached.

I have disabled shockwave flash which seems to have resolved the problem - but is this a fault with Skysports, firefox or shockwave flash?

fault with Skysports and your Flash 26.0 r0 as it is way out of date and a security risk. Flash Player Version: 29.0.0.171 Current Version, Released this date. https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

Thanks for your reply but it is not convenient to update Flash this week. However, SkySports is still using 30-40% and 2GB even though Flash is disabled.

You should contact them about the abusive use of stuff they have on there. As what ever do with Firefox is global settings. So can not just do something to tone down one site.

So is there a reason your still running Firefox 32bit ?

Can stick in the 64bit full version installer and may help :

To check please : Go to the Firefox 3 Bar Menu --> Options --> Privacy & Security panel and under Permissions check (put a tick in the box) the setting to Prevent Accessibility Services from accessing your browser.

Go to the 3 Bar Menu then Options --> General --> Performance and untick everything. change the recommended size lower then see how it runs. Note: 1 = No Multiprocessor = slow again. Try 2, or higher, lower, find the sweet spot. Restart Firefox after making these changes please. Note : Hardware Acceleration is for Video Card, Monitor to see if remain off or to turn back on.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Thanks again - another job for next week - but I don't remember seeing any options for installing the 64 bit version. I'll let you know what happens next week.

Latest Flash installed and enabled OK but still uses high CPU and memory. Something else I have noticed, the page seems to reload itself several times in a minute or so (see attached) but this does not seem to happen with IE or Chrome. I haven't loaded the 64 bit version yet - I'll let this version run for a few days.
