By default 'all bookmarks' opening in new window. Also you can try to turn on sync and if your bookmarks have stored somewhere, they will be synced. You can take a look that you saved in bookmarks directly to Firefox, not Pocket List. I hope this will help you solve your problem.
Hi rgoswell, what kind of symptoms did your Firefox have that led you to use Refresh?
Just in case it's an issue of locked files, could you shut down Windows 10 and start it up again and check whether Firefox is able to access your bookmarks?
The Refresh usually moves your entire Firefox profile folder with your bookmarks and other data to your desktop inside an Old Firefox Data folder. Do you see one of those? If so, please hang onto it in case we need you to fish out some files.
Boy guys, you have made the onerous process very difficult for me. After refreshing FireFox (see above) I still could not get this laptop running fast enough, so I reinstalled Windows 10 . After 6 hours of Microsoft refresh, the install program attempted to load Edge.
Now I an finally back and logged into FireFox on both laptops.........and you guys are forcing me to give you a smartphone number.
I JUST WANT TO SYNC 2 my laptops !!!
I am retired and do not need (or have ) a smartphone.
Really unfair to stick me with this mess.
Hi rgoswell, ignore the suggestion to add a mobile phone to your Firefox account. It's optional.
OK I skipped that screen (even though there was no optional indication). But I am still stuck. I can only Import from Edge or Explorer cannot see Sync to link the 2 laptops.
Hi rgoswell, if you have signed both Firefoxes in to the same account, they should sync with one another. However, I'm not sure if that will share/import the data you want to share/import or whether you need to get the data from somewhere else. ??
To check your Sync settings:
- Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options
- Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences
- Linux: "3-bar" menu button (or Edit menu) > Preferences
- Any system: type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it
In the left column, click Firefox Account. Then on the right side, after you sign in, you can configure the categories of data to sync.
