FF 60.5.0esr 64-bit at Debian stable says "Firefox is installing components needed to play the audio or video on this page. Please try again later" at Netflix
Dear all,
I'm facing a similar issue while trying to watch Netflix as the one described in the following post but on a 64-bit machine:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1246576
Environment: Debian stable, everything updated
Firefox ESR 60.5.0esr
Extensions: Adblock Plus
NoScript
Plugins:
OpenH264 Video Codec provided by Cisco Systems, Inc., V 1.7.1 / enabled
Widevine Content Decryption Module provided by Google Inc., V. 1.4.8.1008
Output of about:support:
(...)
media.gmp-widevinecdm.abi x86_64-gcc3
media.gmp-widevinecdm.autoupdate true
media.gmp-widevinecdm.lastUpdate 1549027671

Measures taken:
- Toggled DRM in the settings off-on, w/ restart of FF
- Started FF in safe mode w/ Extensions disabled
- Host-files are empty, afaik
Side-notes:
- Worked fine until a few days ago
- Amazon-prime player stopped working on FF about two weeks ago
- Netflix works on FF on Win10 on the same machine, there w/ widevine 4.10.1146.0
- While trying around, a few times the teaser-videos at Netflix in the background startet to play as they usually do but without any recognizable connection to my actions. o.0
Cheers!

hi, does the following workaround help in order to get the proper DRM-module installed?: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1524830#c5
