Local html file with links aren't being marked as visited. How do make them show as visited?

more options

I found an old HTML file that was a back up of my Bookmarks from 4 years ago. I loaded the local file however if I visit one of the links it is not being marked as visited. How do I make them show if they have been visited or not visited. They all are showing blue. Is there away of making them show up as visited other than loading Apache on my local machine and make it document the page that loads?

Thanks, George

Hi George, Firefox colors links as visited if they match an address in your history. Does your Firefox store history, or is it in a private browsing mode?

One issue for older documents: you may have http (insecure) links that the site redirects to https (secure) addresses. I think in that case, the history will have the https address, so it will not match the old link in the page.
