I've deleted my messages from my inbox, at least I can't see them but I keep getting this message. The folder Inbox is full, and can't hold any more messages.

I've exported my old emails to my computer. Now I want to delete them from Thunderbird. I think I've deleted them, I can't see them in inbox but when I try to get more messages I get the following notice. 'The folder Inbox is full, and can't hold any more messages. To make room for more messages, delete any old or unwanted mail and compact the folder.' How do I empty my inbox?

Have you compacted it? (right click the folder and select compact from the menu)

I did think that message to be a thing of the pasts once the 4gb limit of folder sizes was removed in Thunderbird 51 three years ago. Are you using an old version of Thunderbird?
