When i click in Applications on Debian8/Linux laptop Thunderbird is not loading and gives up after 5 seconds. i get dialogue box when i try again "Thunderbird is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Thunderbird process, or restart your system.". I've tried both those to no avail. Please can anyone help?

Open the profile folder and delete the lock and .parentlock files, and see if TB then launches without error.
