New iMac/Thunderbird Requires New Account Info

more options

I just installed Thunderbird on a new iMac, and works great. Except when I quit out of Thunderbird, and then go back in, I'm forced to create accounts all over again. For some reason, Thunderbird isn't "saving?" the accounts once I put them in. When I enter all the info, again, works great. But can't keep setting up new accounts 18x/day.

Thank you for all you help!

This usually happens when TB hasn't been dragged to the Applications folder:

Hi! I found you.

Yep, Thunderbird is in the Applications folder, and it's still happening.

There are actually two (perhaps that's the problem?).

Oe is the regular Thunderbird icon (date Nov 29, 2019) and the other Thunderbird icon looks like a disk mount. When I click on that (in Applications) it's basically a folder with another copy of Thunderbird (Nov 29, 2019) with a folder, that when I click on, takes me back to Applications.

I would remove all versions and follow the instructions in the support article. Removing or reinstalling the program doesn't affect your data in the separate profile folder.

I just uninstalled, and reinstalled according to the directions in the link.

The only problem I had was I'm not able to drag just the Thunderbird icon into the Applications Folder—I have to drag the disk mount icon into the Applications folder… when I click on the disk mount icon it just tell me to put the Thunderbird icon into the Applications folder.

So, with the icon for the disk mount Thunderbird in the Applications folder, still requiring me to set up new account each time.

How in the world do I just get the Thunderbird icon?
