Incoming Thunderbird email is blocked from reaching my computer

My Thunderbird incoming email has been clogged for the last four days. Nothing new coming in. It has happened three or four times in the last few years, but now I have experienced it twice in two weeks. The last incoming email gets repeated over and over. I now have a couple hundred of the same email message at the top of my inbox. I am able to get new mail on Horde and on my phone, but it is obviously very awkward. Can someone guide me in removing the block? Thanks. Richard

Open the account in webmail and delete the repeating message, then empty the webmail Trash and Spam/Bulk.
