Multiple networked computers (Macs and PC's) sharing profile stored on a network attached drive?
I have been using Eudora for - forever. It's installed on the "z:" drive, an external SSD attached to one of my computers. The z: drive is a shared drive and holds ALL my data, and also my primary Eudora install. When I launch Eudora on any of my computers (in this case, only PC's since Eudora was not a Mac app) the Eudora shortcut points to z:\eudora.
I'd like to replicate this with Thunderbird. It appears it can be done by installing Thunderbird on all my networked computers and having the "profile" on the z: drive.
1) Is that correct, can I do that? 2) If so, does it matter whether Thunderbird is installed on a Mac or PC 3) Any way to import fifteen years of Eudora email?

Yes, that is the normal approach. The addon, ImportExportTools, should suffice for Eudora. I used it to convert a Eudora account a while back.
Thanks for the reply! And the bonus - ImportExportTools. Hope it all works as advertised.
Any tips on using ImportExportTools? About half the emails it imported were empty, and none of the attachments were attached...
Sorry. I no longer have a Eudora account, so I can't give specifics.
