Hi
Have you tried turning off the DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials and AdBlocker Ultimate add-ons that you have installed in Firefox?
Yes, assuming that troubleshooting mode works as advertised (shuts off all extensions).
Examples would be nice. I can log into Dice and I didn't get any captcha using 102 ESR.
See images attached. (note* These are Cloudfare protected sites that are the problem children)
Clear the cache and remove the cookies from websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences). "Clear the cache": Firefox/Options/Preferences -> Advanced -> Network -> Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
Okay, so that was the first thing I tried, I've done Technical support/ Helpdesk since 2003. So the steps I did were 1. Click on the 3 bars on upper right corner (AKA Hamburger) 2. Go into Settings 3. Go to Privacy & Security 4. Go into Cookies & Site Data -> Manage Cookies & Site Data 5. Removed any Cookies for the problem children. closed & reopened browser and retested. Tried with Troubleshooting mode on (extensions disabled) and same issue. I even signed out of Sync and signed back in. There' s no Options/Preferences in any view I have available to me, both on my Desktop or Android devices. My Desktop is Debian Bookworm (testing/Sid) Firefox ESR v102.3.0
Well, that's going to be tricky. One of the sites is for my Healthcare portal. With that said, I can go into the same sites on my Tablet and phone. The other problem is it's not consistently one page. One day DICE makes me use a different Browser to access it, the next day it's fine. I'm also behind a VPN and use SelekTOR (proxy). I'm reasonably sure that's not the problem since I can open the same page in Brave or Chromium on the same computer. TOR Browser works as well, but does fail to load the page frequently.
If you're going to try to recreate the issue, try these steps:
1. Sign up for an account that sends emails to you with Links (Job hunting sites, Forums, etc) 2. Open the email in the Evolution email program 3. click on the link in the email 4. Page will either fail to load, or you will not see the icon to "Check if your Human" , just a blank white screen and spinning wheel of death. 5. Right click on the link in the email and copy address, open other browser (chrome, brave, M$ Edge, what ever) choose paste and go. 6. Page opens in other browser.
The screen shots are from Indeed.com But as I stated earlier Cloudfare protected sites are the problem 99.99% of the time. The rest of the time Firefox is slow (it takes a while to load this page). If you're going to try "other OSes" you will run into the problem of the email program isn't available for MAC or Windows. Maybe different Linux Distributions? I'm on Debian Testing, so maybe a "Rolling Release" version like Fedora or Manjaro?
Well, kind of, it's actually happening when I'm logging in. So for the healthcare site it brings me to the "home" page https://mychart.altru.org/myhealth/Authentication/ I then enter my username & Password and THEN it starts with the problem. Or if I'm on indeed.com and want to apply for a job and need to sign in, then I get the problem. The Altru site displays intermittently, other times it's a blank white page that never loads in Firefox, Brave loads it right up. The other annoying part is it isn't always the same page that acts up. I tried to do a Video capture of the problem and I got Indeed.com to fail but when I tried to record it by going back to the same site but different job listing it worked fine. So the whole, "It works on my Windows/MAC machine" won't count.
" Are you sure those medical sites aren't sending phone authentication passwords?" Yes I'm positive. I input a Username & password. There is no MFA or 2FA involved. Those actually work. If I post an MP4 recording of the issue can it be opened here? I can show easier than explain it.
Okay, let's try it this way. When I go to mychart.altru.org/ in Firefox I get this message:
The connection has timed out
An error occurred during a connection to mychart.altru.org.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection. If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
When I go to that site in Brave or Chromium the page displays (see screenshot attached 1st on the left) If you are trying to go to that web page and it doesn't load in FireFox try the page in a different browser, it loads just fine and quickly. You have found part of the problem!
Now for the RCaptcha/ CloudFlare issue, If I go to indeed.com in Firefox I get this message:
Access denied Error code 1020
You cannot access indeed.com. Refresh the page or contact the site owner to request access. Troubleshooting information
Copy and paste the Ray ID when you contact the site owner.

For help visit Troubleshooting guide External link Performance & security by Cloudflare External link
If I go there via a "chrome-based" browser the page works fine. On some of the pages I try to visit in Firefox I will get this:
www.linuxquestions.org Checking if the site connection is secure www.linuxquestions.org needs to review the security of your connection before proceeding. Did you know botnets can be used to shutdown popular websites? Ray ID: 756072961b82ef4b Performance & security by Cloudflare But I can go there fine in other browsers. Sometimes it will pop up a button asking me to verify I'm human and run me through the "click images showing *blah*" other times the above message appears. There have been times a page just gives a "spinning wheel" and I have copied the URL and tried to go to the URL in TOR, and then I can see the "verify your Human" button If Firefox does display the RCaptcha or the button I get ran through the "click all images of *blah*" multiple times. Sometimes it's twice other times it's three or more times.
