i reinstalled windows 10 and tried to login in firefox, but i didn't remember password so i reseted password and tried to sync bookmarks but nothing to sync. how i can restore my bookmarks? why after reset password all my synced data will be erased? what genius came up with this?

Firefox Sync is not designed to be an online backup, it a way to transfer bookmarks, passwords and browsing data between copies of Firefox.

As a security measure to prevent your data from being intercepted, using the lost password process deletes data currently being synced between copies of Firefox.

Resetting the password for the Firefox Account because you do not remember the password will remove all data stored on the Sync server because this password is used to encrypt your data locally for security reasons before it is uploaded to the Sync server and only this password or a possible recovery key can decrypt this data.
