my firefox window vanishes unless it is full screen as if its location were 0,0 with size o,0?

Firefoc window is only visible in full screen mode. When I try the multi-window mode firefox vanishes though it remains in the tool bar at the bottom of the page.

Move and resize from the pop-up move the cursor to upper-left corner of the screen.
