What address? I occasionally encounter pages using other ports, and I am able to view them. The only hitch is that I have Little Snitch asking permission for Firefox to use that port (and I like it that way).
I volunteer at the Georgia Aquarium and it's the volunteer website where we go sign up to volunteer, I've been using it for 3 years without a problem. What's a little snitch? I just want to view the website and now Firefox is preventing me form doing so. Is there a setting I should change?
There are no trusted sites. Just because you trust the people who run the site (the Aquarium), don't mean the site itself hasn't been hijacked by bad guys. Have a talk to the site administrator before you start unblocking ports.
By the way, are you talking about the sign-up page, hosted by www.volgistics.com? If the Aquarium has recently hosted their volunteer site on an outside service, that may be why the behaviour has changed after three years.
[By "Little snitch", Finitarry means a warning pop-up by Firefox. "Are you sure Y/N".]

Little Snitch is a Mac OS outbound firewall application. It pops up warnings about situations for which it has no existing rules.
