Firefox keeps forgetting my custom top sites

There's nothing I can see that causes it to happen, but basically what happens is I set up custom sites on the home page ( I let to have particular sites in particular places for easier access) but after a random amount of time (I've had it happen the next day and even a few weeks later) the home page just resets itself to the most visited page and all my pinned sites are gone.

Anybody any idea what's causing it or how to get it to keep my pinned sites?

This also happens to me in FF Beta and I use FVD Speed Dial on my PC which is synced to my FF account.

i have the same issue on firefox 21 beta, but don't know of any solution unfortunately. the firefox mobile team is working on a major overhaul of the homepage though - hopefully these quirks will be addressed then...
