Hello, I really hate how much wasted screen space this new design is taking up... so I wanted to know if there is any way to move the toolbar (or turn it off completely) unto the menu bar, so that it only takes up one single line of space on my screen?

I do not want to turn off my menu bar (with File, Edit, View, ect...)... I want to keep those options, and I've already been told that they cannot be moved to any other bar... I also know that you can move some icons (like "Home", "Cut & Paste", ect...) unto the menu bar, and I'd be happy, if I could move the "Address" section, and the other icons in the toolbar to the menu bar - but I can't just drag and drop it - I've tried... it won't budge.

Is there anything I can do, or am I just screwed with this ridiculously huge section of wasted space forever?

Chosen solution

Hello the-edmeister, thank you for your suggestion... it wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but through it (while reading about it, and what it does) I came across information on "classic theme restorer", and installed it... There were many options for customizing Firefox's appearance, including an option to do exactly what I wanted to do within it... I don't think that I would of found it, if not for your suggestion - so Thank you :)

With Classic Theme Restorer, I was able to place all of the buttons that I frequently use into one bar, and place Tabs below it... for a very simple and clean appearance.

As to Debapriya's information - it was just old instructions on how to do exactly what I had already attempted to do, but which, didn't work :/

Debapriya,
Did you look at that mozillaZine KB page to see if it has current applicable information?
This page was last modified 16:14, 8 November 2012

How is that going to help the Owner of this thread, other than provide additional frustration?

Sorakiba,

Try this User Style - http://userstyles.org/styles/83327/minimal-for-australis
I'm not using WIn7 like you are, but on WInXP that style saves me 3/4 worth of one toolbar, height-wise.
