TB on Win8 "downloading message 1 of 1" but does not arrive, in loop.

My pop3 acct does not receive and display messages. "Downloading messages 1 of 1 for Will Rogers" appears on task bar but the green status bar just completes and loops and no message ever appears. I can go directly to my ISP Suddenlink and receive messages. Also I can send from this acct via TB. Error console messages: Could not read chrome manifest 'file:///C:/Program%20Files%20(x86)/Mozilla%20Thunderbird/chrome.manifest'. While creating services from category 'profile-after-change', could not create service for entry 'Disk Space Watcher Service', contract ID '@mozilla.org/toolkit/disk-space-watcher;1'

Chosen solution

Try disabling email scanning in your anti virus program. It works wonders on all sorts of Email "problems".

Thanks Matt. I did not consider that to be a problem since my other pop3 account continued to work properly.
