Firefox crashes
Firefox was working fine this morning. When I came back in the afternoon, it had crashed, and ever since, it has persisted in crashing while loading. I tried resetting it, and starting it in safe mode, but it keeps crashing. I tried not reloading any old tabs and starting with a new window--no difference.

I think you're correct. I subsequently tried a re-installation, which worked, except all my tabs, sessions, add-ons, etc. were lost. I got some back after I found a folder marked "old firefox data" on the desktop that had the corrupted profile, but not all.
I have had the profile file get corrupted before, once or twice, and I'm not sure what causes it. It's certainly a pain.
Thanks!

These add-ons can be a great help by backing up and restoring Firefox
FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension) {web link} FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your Firefox extensions, history, passwords, and more. In fact, it goes beyond just backing up -- It will actually rebuild your saved files individually into installable .xpi files. It will also make backup of files that you choose.

Thanks! I'll give them a try.
