I closed all windows last night (about 10 of them). I let the computer remain on overnight. When I clicked the taskbar icon for firefox this morning, a message briefly appeared that firefox was being updated. When firefox finally "started," opening my windows, all of them opened except one - on which I had about 30 tabs. (My main wondow!) How do I recover it with all the tabs?

If you closed the windows one by one, only the last windows open when Firefox was closed will be restored. There are things you can try.

  • 1 Close Firefox without closing any window.
  • 2 Create a desk top short cut with the windows you want opened.
  • 3 Set up all the windows and tabs the way you want. Then tell Firefox; these are the page(s) to display when it opens.

Type about:preferences#general<Enter> in the address bar.

There are two settings;

  • When Firefox Starts

When the browser is started, what do you want to display.

  • Home Page

When a new page is opened, what do you want displayed.

  1. Use Current Page. Use what ever page(s) are open at that time.
