Firefox not responding. Have done all troubleshooting but still not working. It won't even open now. Help please.
After going through all the troubleshooting suggestions and also uninstalling and re-installing Firefox, it still won't work. To begin with it was fading out and a 'not responding' notice appeared on the header, with the pointer turning to the timer but nothing was happening. It's been working well for ages and I haven't added anything or deleted anything recently, so can't understand why it should suddenly stop working. I've followed all the troubleshooting advice and disabled the plug ins, also removed a lot of the add ons, still didn't work. Then I uninstalled it and re-installed it. Now it won't even open. A window comes up saying it has crashed and giving me the option to re-start it or quit it. If I click re-start, it won't re-start. I've even started it in safe mode but that won't stay open either, it opens for about a minute then just closes. Please help, I really don't want to use any other search engine.

If you have submitted crash reports then please post the IDs of one or more recent crash reports that have a "bp-" prefix:
- bp-xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx
You can find the Report ID of recent crash reports on the "Help > Troubleshooting Information" page (about:support).
- Click the "All Crash Reports" button on this page to open the about:crashes page and see all crash reports.
If necessary then you can open about: pages via the location/address bar.

Hi Jenonnet, try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) and then see if that helps.
Most often issues like that are caused by a firewall or/and security software which doesn't recognize new Firefox (and for that blocks the new firefox version). You have to remove all program rules for firefox from your firewall and let it detect the new version of the browser again.{In windows safe mode with networking, security software is disable}
thank you

Thanks for your reply. I don't know how or why, as I haven't done anything since my post but suddenly for no reason I can figure out, I clicked on it today and it opened as if there was nothing wrong in the first place!!
So without me doing anything, or being able to understand why it went wrong or why it is now working, it seems fine again!!
Thank you for your help nonetheless.
I did look for the crash report, as per your instructions but there was nothing there, so couldn't post it.
I don't know how or why but it is now working again, I tried it this morning and it opened as if nothing had been wrong in the first place!!
Thank you for your reply, even though I didn't need any help in the end... wish I could find out why it did it and how it got fixed though, just in case it happens again!!
Did you previously reboot the computer?

Yes co-rel, but I've done that before when I've followed the troubleshooting suggestions and nothing happened... it wasn't working yesterday and as I'd exhausted all avenues, I didn't do anything else, just switched my laptop off for the night and when I booted it up this morning and tried Firefox once again, as I've been doing for days, it just . Don't know why but I'm a happy bunny again now it's working again!!
