When NOT on administrative side :Firefox Software Updater" message appears after sign in

more options

When signing on to Firefox (NOT on administrative) I have a user Account Control box open .. FIREFOX SOFTWEAR UPDATER. This happens every time. When I sign on the computer on the Administrator side this message does not show up. I have no such message from firefox telling me I need to update anything. I of course do not want to open this because it is asking for my Administrative Password. No I am not the only person using this computer though it is a home computer. Any ideas? Thanks cwhite

Sounds like Malware on that PC. Besides software being mispelt in that message, Firefox can update in non-admin accounts.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one. Windows 8 has antivirus built-in already.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

I ran Malwarebytes and found 13 unwanted(s), but that was not the problem.
