I am pushing Firefox 40.0.2 for OSX to an enterprise environment using Jamf Casper Suite. We are switching from Firefox ESR with Auto-Updates Disabled, to Firefox 40.0.2 RR. Since 40.0.3 is out, any computer running 40.0.2 should automatically update. However, they do not.

When I go to About Firefox, it says "Updates available at https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/" When I go to that link, https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/ it says, "Congrats! You're using the latest version of Firefox." I know that this is not true because 40.0.3 is out, and any computer that I have not previously installed Firefox ESR on, will auto update to 40.0.3.

I have tried removing Firefox completely and re-pushing, however the problem persists. I have tried manually configuring using a .cfg file and point .js to the config file, however same results.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Download Firefox Full Version For All languages And Systems {web link} Save the file. Then;

Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.

Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86) Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. Linux: Check your user manual.

• Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Install Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder Firefox in your home directory.

Look for, and rename any Mozilla or Firefox folders by adding .old to them.

Now run the full installer. If all goes well, remove the OLD folders when you are done.

A website can only check the major Firefox version that is shown in the user agent and not the minor version. The "Help > Troubleshooting Information" page shows more information.

You can only check for updates via "Help > About" (About Firefox). If this says that updates are available then that means that you do not have write permission to the Firefox installation folder. So you need to check the permissions to make sure that users can update.
