Have you installed Adobe Flash player, that might help. You need to install it for Firefox as a plugin, as well as for the system.

Um, sorry, I cant see it in the list to the side, you installed Shockwave Flash, which is like Flash player, and like I mentioned you have to install Adobe Flash player plugin for Firefox, which is different for the system. Sorry.

Hi, try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:

  • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click Help Help-29 and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:

  • On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
  • On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
  • On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.

To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

If that doesn't help, please see if anything here will - Adobe Flash plugin has crashed - Prevent it from happening again.

When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem. Thank you!

I understand what you are saying, and though i've never really looked or noticed but I think the "Shockwave Flash" is what "Microsoft Edge" uses by default (is built into M. Edge) ..and that's what you might be seeing.

I've uninstalled "Flash player" [Firefox (NPAPI) Vers. 20.0.0.286] several times and re-installed it, and i've also Refreshed Firefox once already and that didn't do anything. Though what's interesting is that when I look at the Plugins it's listed as "Shockwave Flash" and not Flash Player . . .so I still don't know what's wrong, and it's the first time I've had this type of problem.

@ Scribe

I've tried "Safe Mode" and have been troubleshooting for the last 3 days ...I'm sort of at a lost, as I've never encountered this type of problem with Flash Player. I might try uninstalling Flash Player again, reboot and then try to Refresh Firefox a second time and then reinstall all the plugins again.
