Thunderbird vanished from my computer after prompting to update 24/02/16. Where did it go? Will I still be able to access my locally stored emails?
My Mozilla thunderbird has automatic updates turned on. It is running on Windows 10. This evening I was propted for a thunderbird update, I clicked "ok" or the equivalent and then all dialog boxes vanished - clicking on the icon resulted in a warning saying the application no longer existed. The programme still appears in my "Programs and Features" list and the Mozilla Thunderbird is there in the C drive, but with no .exe.
I can obviously re-install thunderbird - but what caused this and what will happen to my locally stored emails?

a reinstall is really your only option. Get a copy here getthunderbird.com
Changes to the program do not affect the profile data in any way.
