Restore Bookmark Backups

To open the Bookmarks Manager, press the Alt or F10 key bring up the tool bar, and select Bookmarks. Hot key is <Control>(Mac=<Command>) <Shift> B.

Once the window is open, at the top of the page, press the button labeled Import and Backup. Select Restore. From the list, pick the file you want and click it.

These can't get your data back, but will help in the future.

These add-ons can be a great help by backing up and restoring Firefox

FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension) {web link} FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your Firefox extensions, history, passwords, and more. In fact, it goes beyond just backing up -- It will actually rebuild your saved files individually into installable .xpi files. It will also make backups of files that you choose.

Unless you can find a backup somewhere . . . . .

In the event that the passwords information is lost, you should record all information in a separate text file somewhere else on your hard drive, or written down. You can easily copy and paste if you need to do so. If you are concerned about someone else looking at that file, you can compress it using a password.

Okay I found the old, old backup with the key3.db and logins.json files. i copied and pasted and they seem to work. I also loaded FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension), hopefully if this happens again it will make it easier to rebuild. Thanks When I put in the new video card and fired up Foxfire it started like I had just installed it with no backup data.

I have my FEBE to auto backup each morning. Restoring the saved data is very easy.
