If I reset my master password, does it remove my usernames and passwords from all my devices, or just the device I reset it for?
I set a master password on my laptop, and I can log into that one. But I recently added a master password to my desktop but I forgot it (I know, I should have written it down) and I can't log into any of my saved user names and passwords (on my desktop). I want to know if I reset the master password for my desktop, does it remove all my usernames and passwords on my desktop firefox only, or will it remove them on my laptop as well?

hi dangar75, the master password does only encrypt your local password store and shouldn't have an effect on your other synced devices. however, in any case please create a backup of the firefox profile on your laptop before you proceed...
Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles Use a Primary Password with Sync
Modified
It is always safest to disconnect Sync on a computer if you make changes to files or make changes that involve a lot of data.
Note that you can also copy logins.json and key3.db from a working device to your computer via a USB jump drive.
