Has anyone had problems with their Apple iCloud email account after the 2-step process?
Now that Apple has gone to the 2 step approach, I'm no longer getting my iCloud emails. I've tried following what Apple has stated but I'm not finding any generate a specific password for the application in this account when I log into it on their specific log in webpage.
Has anyone else had this problem and was able to solve it?

Here are Apples instructions.
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204397 If those do not help, contact Apple for support.
That would be on the Apple iCloud settings side that you would create this password, then you'd use THAT password for the password section of the Setup section in Thunderbird:
i.e. In icloud you generate password and it returns something like
c6AoUFNQYidg
When you setup the email in Thunderbird, you'd use: Username: username@icloud.com Password: c6AoUFNQYidg
I have stated in the first one that I'm not given the choice to generate a password for that application.
Then contact Apple. It is their system.
Surely google search would find something useful? Add search terms as needed http://lmgtfy.com/?q=thunderbird+icloud
I talked to someone at an Apple support store. The problem is I have several iCloud accounts and I can only have one set up for 2-step on my Mac. If I disable 2-step, I still can't connect to the email accounts.
I told them that they need to see how Google does it. I'm going to see how Mac email handles these.
Appears Apple Mail has no problems with the two iCloud accounts. So I guess I will be getting rid of Thunderbird.
You are free to use any client you wish. Seems silly to blame Thunderbird when you say you go to the iCloud site and it will not let you generate an app specific password.
