I can't access the comments or photos on some news sites
Recently, a problem started on my PC in Firefox at home. I can't access some of the features of new sites, specifically the Comments sections and photos shown on the home page in links. I have a similar PC at work and have no difficulty accessing these same sites with Firefox there. I've had my home computer for a couple years and didn't have this problem previously. I'm wondering if there is some setting I inadvertently changed. What shows up is just the heading Comments and I can't open anything beyond that. Additionally, on one site, the home page shows just gray boxes where the thumbnails for photos accompanying links to stories should be. The links work, just no image showing. Not being tech-savvy, I could use advice about how to correct this. I appreciate any insights.

Correction for a confusing typo here. I didn't mean to say I can't access "new sites." I can't access comments and photos for links on "news sites"--meaning media such as the Washington Post.
This is usually a Ad-Blocker that stops comments. You should play with your Adblock Plus to find the issue.
Alternatively disable Adblock Plus then go to the pages that were not showing the photos and comments. This way you can tell real quick if it is the blocker.
If you have others installed please check them also.
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

I disabled Adblock Plus on the site of the Washington Post, closed Firefox, and tried again. The problem has not resolved, so it doesn't seem to be Adblock Plus. I appreciate any other suggestions you may have.
Have you created any rules in the firewall or is the firewall stopping or anti-virus stopping it. please check.
Ya thought might be a Adblocker because I have my Ublock Origin and Ghostery set to not show comments.
Seems rather strange that it is only one site.
Are you a paid user of the sites ?
I figured out the problem. Looking at the upper right of my screen next to the Adblock Plus icon, the little symbol that looks like a scroll was black. Hovering my mouse over it, I apparently had clicked on it accidentally and blacklisted the site. I whitelisted it, along with the other site giving me the same issue, and everything is back to normal. I'm a bit chagrinned that this was just my own error. But I would not have found the solution without your having me hunt around, so thanks for your help.
