upgraded to Firefox 54.0.1 and Gmail won't open/cannot connect to Google website

This is the most likely issue, corrupted cookies : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-login-issues-on-websites-require-passwords

Can you try this please and also the Refresh https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-extensions-themes-to-fix-problems?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
