My FF is v56.0.1, and my (Logitech optical/scroll-wheel) mouse is less than 6 months old.

Only in the last week or less, I'm starting to get right-click menus appearing when I left-click something in the FF window.

There's no rhyme nor reason to when the menus appear; they'll pop up six or seven times in succession, then not appear for a bunch more clicks; still, I haven't seen it occur except in Firefox.

Ideas?

Does this happen a lot, once in a while, sometimes?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Does this still happen if you use a Windows mouse driver instead of the Logitech mouse driver?

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen or hold down the Shift key) to see if that has effect.

FredMcD: It's happening fairly often, enough to annoy. cor-el: To the best of my knowledge, this is with the Windows driver. No separate software came with it. I can look up the model number at Logitech to see if they have any for it. Both: I'll try Safe Mode shortly.

Safe Mode on this system for some odd reason doesn't permit networking even if I specify it. That could have been a customization by HP. I clicked on something in the automatic help window that pops up when Safe Mode is started, and a right-click menu appeared. So, a yes to Fred. Now off to Logitech...several products, but nothing in the way of a generic driver for M100.
