How can I change the icons for folders and subfolders

I'm finally migrating my mail from Eudora to Thunderbird, and I have everything migrated (Love Eudora Rescue http://qwerky.50webs.com/eudorarescue/download.htm and Import).

The thing that's driving me crazy is the icons for the folders and subfolders. Eudora has the concept of a folder or a mailbox, where you place mailboxes in folders. The icons between those two are different, which makes the viewing of the overall tree a lot clearer.

In Thunderbird, all of those icons are the same, and the indent itself is fairly slight, making it a lot harder to tell where I am in the tree. Is there a way to tweak those folder icons?

Please post an image as it would help to explain what you are seeing.

I see an envelope to denote a mail account Standard folder icon on folders I have created. All default folders have different icons. See image below to explain what I see. the first is standard view the second shows unified folder view.

I'm also using the default theme.

Here's a comparison of the folder structure displayed between Thunderbird and Eudora. I think I'm not using the core Thunderbird theme, but it's not much different than the core.
