why does Thunderbird close overnight?

My computer goes to sleep overnight. I leave Thunderbird open, but when I wake it up in the morning, it is closed and has to be reopened. Why is this?

Could it be because your computer is shutting off to save power? Right-click the Start button, Device Manager, then right-click the relevant Network adapter, Properties, and look at the setting on the Power Management tab.
